    The Junior Quality Assurance Analyst (JQA) evaluates and tests new and modified business software for United States Cold Storage, Inc. (USCS). The JQA authors software development and testing procedures which are required to verify that software applications function according to user requirements. Additionally, they will insure that these applications conform to establishment programming guidelines. The JQA authors, revises, and verifies quality standards and testing procedures. The core purpose of this position is to insure that quality, defect free business applications are maintained efficiently as possible.


    The JQA collaborates with project stakeholders, engineers, and developers as part of the development life cycle to produce quality products and services. In addition, they will verify, reproduce, communicate, and track defects. They will participate in all phases of testing, including planning, development and the revision of project plans and scope. Additionally, the JQA will participate in software release testing for patches and upgrades.



    • Learn and develop knowledge of procedural variations throughout USCS business locations
    • Maintain and prepare software test scripts
    • Participate in software requirements gathering sessions
    • Work with developers to understand the design and update the test scripts
    • Understand the impact of an issue on the overall application and enhance the test scripts
    • Research and recommend the required testing tools
    • Test the programming changes and document results to the development team
    • Maintain defect tracking and root cause analysis documents for delivery to technical leads
    • Maintain industry level quality metrics
    • Provide assistance with maintaining the user manuals
    • Other duties may be assigned
    • Able to travel and work at our nationwide plant locations as required (up to 25%).







    • Bachelor’s Degree in IT or similar field preferred (will consider business experience and individuals pursuing a degree)
    • Experience performing auditing, testing and helpdesk tasks preferred
    • 2 years of operational/warehousing experience
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Knowledge of SQL and Database concepts preferred
    • Knowledge of industry leading testing tools and documentation methodologies preferred
    • Experience with Microsoft Office suite: Word, Excel, Power Point and Visio



    • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems
    • Knowledge of IBM System i (AS/400) platform and DB2i concepts
    • Knowledge of defect tracking tools
