  • Overview

    The Warehouse Superintendent is responsible for the efficient execution of all warehouse operations. This position will oversee all warehouse employee related functions, including but not limited to staffing, performance management, individual and team development, and safety, while maintaining a positive work environment. Focused on continuous improvement in all we do, the Superintendent oversees the planning, development and implementation of all warehouse procedures and activities required to meet customer requirements, striving to exceed USCS’s facility and Company goals.




    • Work closely with the Manager in the efficient coordination and execution of workflow throughout the warehouse, consistently keeping safety, cost controls, productivity, accuracy, team environment, and customer satisfaction in line with facility goals.
    • Oversee all inventory control functions and procedures, including cycle counts, product rotation and recall, training, customer requests and record keeping.
    • Oversee the screening, hiring, and training of all new warehouse employees.
    • Work with the Manager on training and development of the Warehouse Supervision team, while providing oversight and direction to their development of the warehouse team.
    • Ensure that all warehouse sanitation, safety and security activities are consistently performed within the highest USCS, OSHA and other government compliance, and industry standards.
    • Work with the Manager and Customer Service Supervisor to build good customer relationships, ensuring that all requirements and requests are responded to in the highest professional manner.
    • Maximize all warehouse activities as they relate to meeting established financial goals, making recommendations to the Manager for operational and capital improvements.
    • Develop good working relationships at all levels within the USCS team environment, leading and communicating as needed to maximize individual and team performance.



    • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or 7 years prior warehouse supervision/management in temperature controlled warehousing.
    • Good understanding of general warehouse practices and warehouse safety.
    • Detail and customer service oriented. Planning, organizing, professional written and oral communication, problem solving, decision making, excellent mathematical skills. Must be able to consistently lead and influence others to take positive action.
    • Excellent communication skills with all levels of the work force.

    • Stand, walk; use hands and feet to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; talk or hear.
    • Use of computers, scanners, telephones, and other warehouse support and office equipment.
    • The employee will occasionally lift and/or move objects ranging from 20 to 50 pounds.
    • Work longer hours as needed to satisfy customer and USCS daily and seasonal requirements.
    • Drive a registered motor vehicle, personal or company owned, to satisfy daily requirements.

    • General warehouse work with exception of temperatures ranging from -20 to +40 degrees F. 
    • The noise level in the work area is usually moderate.
    • Personal interaction and communication required to and from other people is extremely high.
    • Daily workflow is moderate to fast paced, dependent on daily and seasonal customer and USCS company requirements.
