  • Overview

    PRIMARY FUNCTIONS: The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for overseeing inventory flow through the facility in a timely and accurate manner.  This position is responsible for conducting cycle counts, identifying root causes of inventory discrepancies and leading efforts to resolve. 


    Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Establish and execute cycle count program
    • Oversee movement of inventory in a timely manner
    • Improve warehouse efficiencies and inventory accuracy through layout, zoning, etc.
    • Monitors overages, shortages and damages
    • Updates and ensures compliance to standards (BRC, HACCP, etc.)



     Include the following. Other duties as assigned.

    • Shipping  and  Receiving :  Unload  and  load  trailers  and  verify  proper  stacking  and  freight  not  being  mixed  on  pallets,  one  item  to  a  pallet  as  required  unless  instructed  otherwise.  Tape or stretch-wrap pallet as required to ensure product stability.
    • Over,  Short, and  Damage :  Identify  and  recover  any  received  or  shipping  damage  consistent  with  Company  policy.  Coordinate root cause and corrective action to prevent future occurrences.
    • Inventory:  Assistant in physical inventories with use of scanners.  Ensure proper stock rotation by following lot number identification.
    • Oversee inventory control functions and procedures, including cycle counts, product rotation and recall, training, customer claims and requests, and record keeping.
    • Participate in the training process of new warehouse employees.
    • Provide hands-on leadership to the ongoing development of the assigned personnel and teams.
    • Maximize the utilization of all USCS warehouse support computer system applications and tools, including RF equipment, making recommendations for continuous improvement.
    • Work with Customer Service personnel to ensure that all requirements and requests are responded to in the highest professional manner.

    Education:                               High School diploma/GED preferred

    Experience:                             2+ years’ experience in all warehouse functions
