  • Overview

    A Dock Coordinator assists in the planning, development, and implementation of warehouse and inventory control procedures and activities required to meet customer requirements, while working within the team to continually exceed USCS's facility and Company goals. Dock Coordinators are part of the warehouse team and works closely with warehouse supervisors. 


    This position will also oversee inventory control for the warehouse.

    Responsibilities

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT

    • Stand, walk; use hands and feet to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; talk or hear.
    • Use of scanners, telephones, and warehouse machinery.
    • The employee must be capable of occasionally lifting up to 40 + lbs.
    • Work various shifts and longer hours as needed to satisfy customer and USCS requirements.
    • Have acceptable and / or correctable vision. 
    • Work in an atmosphere range of +36 to -55 degrees F.
    • The noise level in the work area is usually moderate.
    • The nature of this job requires constant personal interaction and communication with others.
    • Daily workflow is fast paced, dependent on daily and seasonal customer and USCS company requirements. 

     PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Understand, follow and administer company policy as set forth by USCS.
    • Through leadership, ensure the consistent execution of workflow throughout the warehouse, keeping safety, sanitation, cost controls, productivity, accuracy, team environment, and customer satisfaction in line with facility goals.
    • Oversee company procedures, including cycle counts, product rotation, recall procedure, training, customer claims and requests, and record keeping.
    • Provide hands-on leadership to promote the ongoing development of the assigned personnel and teams.
    • Maximize the utilization of all USCS warehouse support computer system applications and tools, including RF equipment, and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
    • Ensure that all warehouse sanitation, safety and security activities are consistently performed within the highest USCS, OSHA, BRC and other government compliance, and industry standards.
    • Work with Management, Shipping/Receiving and Customer Service personnel to ensure that all requirements and requests are addressed in the highest professional manner.
    • Maximize all warehouse activities to meet established financial goals.
    • Make recommendations to the Superintendent and Operations Manager for operational and capital improvements.
    • Develop good working relationships with staff from all levels of the USCS team environment, leading and communicating as needed to maximize individual and team performance.
    • Attend or conduct plant, customer or training meetings as needed.
    • Perform any additional tasks delegated by the Superintendent and Operations Manager.
    • Responsible for overall maintenance, cleanliness and organization of cooler and freezer aisles as required for efficient USCS Warehouse Operations.
    • Ensure that the integrity of all products and racks is kept within USCS Warehouse standards.
    • Required to attend and participate in Monthly Safety Meeting.

     SAFETY, HOUSEKEEPING, SECURITY: 

    • Adhere to and enforce all USCS Safety Rules and Procedures, per policy.
    • Steel toe shoes, hard hats and ID badges must be worn in all work areas.
    • Follow and assist in security procedures at all times.
    • Maintain a clean, neat and orderly warehouse and lunch room.  

    Qualifications

    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

    • Ability to read and write.
    • Be detail oriented and an effective communicator.
    • Possess strong arithmetic skills.
    • Previous inventory control experience.
    • Previous warehouse lead and/or supervisory preferred.
    • Capable of operating high reach forklifts and their attachments.
    • Capable of operating cherry pickers (order selectors).
    • Capable of following verbal and written instructions.
    • Capable of standing and walking for extended periods of time.
    • Willingness to travel to various worksites as required by USCS.
    • Ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize in a fast paced team environment. 
    • Ability to demonstrate knowledge and mastery of all warehouse functions.
    • High School Diploma or GED required.
