    PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

    The Transportation Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of day to day transportation operations including performance, financial, and customer satisfaction objectives.

     

    Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Supervise and Motivate employees.
    • Resolve OS&D and other related issues with transit.
    • Knowledge of DOT regulations.
    • Ensure loads are planned and booked effectively and within financial guidelines.
    • Maintain professional relationship with the carriers and customers.
    • Perform other related and assigned duties when necessary.
    • Participate in staff and/or customer meetings if required.
    • Develop relationship with warehouse operations to facilitate the daily workflow

     

    Functions may vary dependent on areas of operation. 

    Responsibilities

    MANDATORY JOB REQUIREMENTS

    The  requirements  that  an  individual  must  absolutely  posses  to  perform  the  essential  functions  of  the job :

    • Previous supervisory experience in transportation
    • Strong people skills
    • Effective analytical and problem solving skills
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office and computer use
    • Ability to read and understand financial reporting

     

    Qualifications

    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: The knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below are representative of the qualifications required to successfully perform each essential duty. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.

    Education:                               4 Year College Degree preferred

    Experience:                             1 to 2 years in a Transportation supervisory role preferred.

                                                    3 to 5 years general Transportation experience preferred

    -Experience in AS400, SAP, Word, Excel and Powerpoint preferred.

    -Experience with warehouse paperwork preferred.

    - Ability to thrive in a constantly changing chaotic environment and consistently meet tight timelines

                                                    -Ability to coordinate with contracted trucking dispatchers and drivers

    • Work longer hours as needed to satisfy customer and USCS daily and seasonal requirements.

    • Work is generally sedentary, with no specific need for physical coordination or effort.
    • May require physical effort associated with using the computer to access information, or occasional standing, walking, lifting needed to carry out everyday activities.
    • Position may require occasional warehouse work requiring someone to stand, walk, or be mobile for up to an eight hour shift; ascend and descend from a forklift; lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs; bend, twist and reach to check freight, stack boxes, and label.
