    The Warehouse Associate/High-Reach Operator is responsible for moving, locating, relocating, stacking, and counting various product manually and by utilizing various material handling equipment including a high-reach forklift, stand-up forklifts, slip sheets, clamps, and pallet jacks. The Warehouse Associate/High-Reach Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient use of these vehicles to perform the duties of the position.


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties as assigned.

    • Shipping and Receiving: unload and load trailers and verify proper stacking and product being shipped. Tape or stretch-wrap pallet as required to ensure product stability.
    • Checking Product: prior to product storage, count all product, compare to the drivers’ manifest and check all shipments for damage, infestation, and production code dates. Report shortages, damages, and misplacements to your immediate supervisor who will forward the information to the appropriate parties. Move product to the storage locations utilizing powered industrial equipment. Stack and store the product in the appropriate areas. Verify receipt of product at appropriate temperature.
    • Over, Short, and Damage: identify and recover any received or shipping damage consistent with company policy. Report all shortages and overages to your area supervisor.
    • Inventory: assistant in physical inventories with use of scanners. Ensure proper stock rotation by following lot number identification.
    • Order Picking: pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is located and shipped, verifying product comes from the proper location and the lot numbers match picking documents. Perform picking duties in an efficient manner that meets customer service standards and specifications.
    • Loading: efficiently move product from the staging or storage areas into railcars or trailers.
    • Operate Equipment: load, unload, move, stack, and stage product and materials using a forklift, clamp truck, slip-sheet, or other powered equipment.
    • Maintain working areas, equipment, and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion. Inspect and verify equipment is operating properly prior to the start of work activities.
    • Communicate with supervision, especially in regards to problems or safety concerns.

    *Must be willing to begin the position through a staffing agency for approximately 90 days prior to direct hire.

    Education:                               High School Diploma or equivalent

    Experience:                             At least one year of consistent high-reach forklift experience
                                                  Experience working in frozen and chilled environments preferred

    Other Skills:                           

    Ability to accurately perform basic math operations

    Capable of operating powered industrial equipment including attachments

    Capable of reading in the English language

    Available to work various shifts and longer hours as needed

    Capable of standing and walking extended periods of time

    Ability to pass written and driving forklift exams

    Must be capable of occasionally lifting up to 70 lbs

    • Work in an environment ranging from +50 to -30 degrees F
    • The noise level in the work area is usually moderate
    • Personal interaction and communication required to and from other people is extremely high.
    • Daily workflow is fast-paced, dependent on daily and seasonal customer and USCS company requirements.
