The Automation Controls Engineer is an intermediate level position which focuses on ensuring maintenance practices are implemented, troubleshooting electro-mechanical issues to resolution, and developing continuous improvement optimization within automated distribution centers for USCS. This position primarily involves 3 areas of automation systems: Electro Mechanical Controls SME (Subject Matter Expert), Maintenance Execution, and Coordination of new automation projects.

Education:BS degree preferred, in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial and/or Technology Engineering
Experience: -3+ years of project management experience, preferably within automated material handling and logistics applications.
-PLC, VFD, HMI, AGV, VGV, AC Motor Controls, Robotics knowledge, including programming and configuration.
-Prefer Proficiency in Design/Drafting/Simulation tools. AutoCAD, SketchUp FlexSim, Simio, Simcad or other tools.
-Three or more years engineering experience supporting, commissioning and troubleshooting PLC/PC industrial control systems (Siemens, Allen Bradley)-Ability to communicate clearly, both written and orally
-Ability to schedule own tasks and handle all facets of assigned projects independently and with minimal supervision
-Have experience with Allen Bradley /Siemens PLC HW/SW platforms.
-Hands-on experience with industrial networks.
-Familiar with various motion controllers and actuators.
-Experience and skill in analyzing control systems and troubleshooting issues.
-Root cause analysis / problem-solving skills.
